Facelift Without Surgery ? Yeahh, right!

When I first heard about it, my reaction was exactly the same thing. Yeahh, right!! But when I was invited to attend the Silhouet-Tone seminar training and launching of the photo rejuvenation machine with microdermabrasion, I can’t believe that facelift could be possible without surgery!!

I usually do not volunteer for demos because of my paranoia when it comes to other people touching and putting strange products on my face but when they were drawing the name from a box, I was really praying that my name will be called out so I could experience the treatment especially the crystal microdermabrasion. Luckily, my name was picked out to receive the treatment and I was so overwhelmed by the result. I did not enjoy the uncomfortable crystal microdermabrasion treatments of the preparatory steps ( that is why I have the ‘diamond peel’ type in my studio), but the application of the red light was awesome.

The red light measured at 640nanometers was applied on my face . The red light which was used along with the microcurrent electrodes increases collagen production in the skin, smoothing wrinkles and lines for a younger, healthier complexion. Everyone was amazed when the hand piece was laid over my left brow area because my muscle shook like crazy. It was a funny feeling but a great indication that the muscle is responding and “was awaken” from its lazy old state. The muscle contracted and by doing that provided the ‘lift’ on that side of my forehead. The Trainer worked on the left side of my face and I was requested to sit up to show the class how different the left side of my face looked compared to the saggy right side. My face was lopsided because my left brow was definitely lifted, but she promised to work on my right side to even me out!

It was very good to experience the treatments, because after the demo, I was convinced that this non invasive technology from Silhouet Tone is the best there is. Without a doubt and skepticism about the technology (just on my budget, hhmmm), I ordered the machine for my clients (for myself too!).

The treatment was very comfortable and I almost fell asleep. Unlike Laser or Intensed Pulse Light (IPL) treatments that rely on thermal or heat damage, the Soli-Tone treatments are non-invasive and totally natural. They use light from the visible spectrum, similar to sunlight but without the harmful UV rays.

Aging occurs on three levels: epidermal, dermal, and in the muscle tissue beneath, producing dehydration lines, dull and lifeless complexion, expression wrinkles around the lips, frown lines, sagging jowls and pronounced smile lines. We have to work fast in helping our skin esp. our face or aging overtakes us. Other nagging conditions like blemishes, redness, uneven pigmentation, and photo-ageing are addressed with different types of light. The treatment has no thermal damage and no down time. The treatment could also be used on the neck, chest and hands.

The improvements can be quite dramatic just like what I experienced from the demo. Most clients, according to the trainer, see immediate improvements. With a series of treatments, years are easily removed from the appearance on the skin. You will see younger-looking skin, reduction in fine lines and wrinkles, increased skin elasticity and redefined and firmer facial contour. Pore size is improved along with textural irregularities, acne, and pigmentation blemishes. When I learned about the last feature, all the more I told myself I should have this. All my clients are treated special, but I take super extra concern about my clients who come for acne treatments. I promised myself I will try my best to find the right products and machines to minimize and control acne and help my clients with adult acne problems.

Light energy and microcurrents are two proven technologies. But a healthy lifestyle and a good skin care regimen combined with monthly maintenance treatment is sufficient to enhance and maintain the result obtained with the treatment.

Let there be light...!

If we read the story of creation in the book of Genesis, God’s first statement was: Let there be light.. Then the heavenly bodies were created and all forms of life thereafter.

Light stimulates the flow of energy waves that travel rapidly through the protein fabric of any living organism promoting growth and regeneration. However, light in its natural form can also destroy and mutilate the same life forms, which take energy from it.

What I want to discuss in this article are the effects of light in the visible spectrum. We can see and identify these colors through the different colors that they emit and the depth of penetration and absorption by the skin. Light flows in different wavelengths, usually measured in nanometers (nm). These visible lights are blue, green, yellow and red ranging from 470-640 nm, Research has shown that like vitamins, colors have varying impacts on different cells. These particular LED’s or light emitting diodes present in a Solitone Machine face panel are pure, polarized, narrow band frequencies that are safer than natural sunlight because they don’t emit harmful UV rays.
